SCOT VANDERVER POOL has been a practicing attorney with Forbes & Bowman, now Forbes, Foster & Pool, LLC, since 1996. Within the firm, he handles cases in all areas of its practice, including the specialties of employment law and school law. Since its inception, the firm’s focus has been insurance defense.
A lifelong resident of Georgia, Scot was born in Statesboro and attended Emory University, graduating with honors in Political Science in 1993, and the University of Georgia School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctorate in 1996. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. While in law school, Scot was selected for and served for two years on the editorial board of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law. He was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1996.
Since the Spring of 2003, Scot has been an Adjunct Professor in the College of Business Administration, School of Accountancy at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, where he has taught the legal environment of business and, currently, building construction law.
He is an active member of both the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute, Inc. On multiple occasions, he has been a contributor to Georgia Defense Lawyer and a featured speaker at the GDLA’s annual meeting.
Scot is married to Tifani Pool, who is the Assistant Registrar for Registration and Records at Georgia Southern University. Their working and living in both Savannah and Statesboro have been advantageous, given that the firm’s business covers a large portion of Georgia and occasionally South Carolina. They have one child, Ellis Vanderver Pool.
